I’ll continue in English, in the hope that any Spanish subscribers will be able to understand, but a very rough and edited Spanish translation follows at the foot!

I am delighted to announce that a Spanish version of my book Living with Methylisothiazolinone Allergy will be published next year, hopefully in early 2020. I have hired a translator keen to tackle the book, and the reason I have been able to do so is down to better-than-expected sales of the English edition, the profits of which I’m feeding back into this new project. A huge thanks to you all, then, who have bought and supported it.

I’m now rewriting sections of text, tailored to those in Spain and Mexico / Latin America, as well as Spanish speakers in the US, before my translator can get to work. But I may need some support from the MI allergy community. This is what I’m probably going to need:

  • One or two readers of the text, even perhaps just a few key chapters.
  • Tips on safe products and brands in the areas covered by the book — major local cosmetic brands, household detergents, and more.
  • Information on particular problems faced by residents of Spanish-speaking nations that may need to be addressed — eg difficulties in accessing patch testing for diagnosis.
  • Relevant Spanish / Latin American charities / support groups.
  • Anything else I’ve perhaps not yet thought of …

I have made a start on dedicated pages of resources for Spanish residents on this website … With a page both for MI-Free Cosmetics and another page for MI-Free Household Detergents, but recommendations for additions are very welcome!

I’m familiar with several Spanish Facebook pages, which I will of course be including in the book, and which I’m using as resources for information. For those of you who may find them useful, they are:

So if you can help in any way, or spread the word, I’d be most grateful. Feel free to leave any potential useful tip or contribution or offer to help in the comments below, or if you’d like to contact me (Alex) privately, you can find my email address here

Muchas gracias!

Muchas gracias!
