Methylisothiazolinone allergy: the book

I am delighted to announce that I’ve today published my book, Living with Methylisothiazolinone Allergy: The Complete Guide.

The book takes the reader through everything they need to know about allergy to MI and other isothiazolinones. It covers medical testing and diagnosis, safe cosmetics, safe detergents, understanding labelling, dealing with reactions and flare-ups, looking after your skin, tips on staying safe when away from home — be it on holiday, at work, in school, or anywhere else — and much more besides, expanding considerably on the information given on this website.

It’s written for both American and European readers. I considered writing two versions — and may still do so at a later date — but I thought it may be useful for British readers to understand the American situation should they ever visit the United States and use American products, and likewise for American readers coming to the UK, so I stuck to one universal and international edition for now, covering issues on both sides of the Atlantic.

I hope readers in Australia, Canada and elsewhere find the book useful too — it does include relevant information and some resources for you as well.

It’s a Kindle eBook at present, but I plan on making it available in the iBooks store soon, and on delivering a print edition in early 2019.

If the book does well, I will look to putting out foreign language editions too, beginning with Spanish.

You don’t need an Amazon Kindle to read the book, incidentally, and can read it on your smartphone, tablet or desktop, by downloading the Kindle reading applications available for various operating systems.

Thanks to all of you who have read and supported this site, and especially those who have commented on it, or on its Facebook page, because all that input and dialogue has fed into the book. Thanks especially to Dana for reading much of the book, and for her valuable comments which improved it hugely.

Royalties from the book will help to support me to keep this site going, so I hope you’ll consider buying it and, if you do, please give me feedback on ways to improve it for subsequent editions.

‘Living with Methylisothiazolinone Allergy: The Complete Guide’ is available in Kindle format via Amazon in the United States, in the United Kingdom and on other international Amazon sites
